Green Card Renewal
Green cards, which are now green again, are evidence that an immigrant is a permanent resident of the U.S. It must be carried at all times as identification along with a state ID or drivers license. They are valid for a 10 year period before renewal.
Renewal can be processed on-line electronically or using USCIS Form I-90, accompanying documentation and paying all required filing fees. Submission is completed differently in 4 situations;
1. conditional residents instead file USCIS Form I-765,
2. 10 year permanent residents instead fie USCIS Form I-551,
3. green card holders outside the U.S. when their card expirers use consular processing before filing the form I-90,
4. green card holders within the U.S. file Form I-90.
If denied there is an Appeal Process and or Motion to Reopen option to present new facts. Speak with us to learn how to handle this situation.
